Permits have been filed for a seven-story residential complex at 959 Sterling Place in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. The site includes an existing historic building, occupied by the Hebron Seventh-Day Adventist Bilingual School, originally built as the Methodist Episcopal Home for the Aged in 1889. The Romanesque/Gothic revivalist structure is within the Crown Heights North Historic District landmark and will require approval from the LPC. Matthew Cordivari of the Triton Construction Company is listed as behind the applications.

Earlier this month, we covered permits filed for the Faith Chapel Baptist Church at 552 Prospect Place, Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Today, thanks to a YIMBY reader’s tip, we can reveal renderings for the site’s soon-to-be replacement. As one might expect for such a unique building, a portion of the extant structure will be preserved, but not as much as one might expect. Stephan Tchorbajian of Hye Rise Consulting is listed as responsible for the development.

One such outpost will be located at 658 Driggs Avenue, and today, YIMBY has a fresh rendering for the project, which is being designed by Morris Adjmi Architects.

In November of that year, we revealed the first rendering for the project. Since then, filings have been amended for a slight height increase of two floors, and construction has entered full swing, with the Morris Adjmi-designed skyscraper now up to its fourteenth floor per the latest photos from JC_Heights.

New building applications have been filed for a six-story development at 453 West 162nd Street, immediately to the east of the C train’s 163rd St-Amsterdam Avenue stop, in Washington Heights. The project will span 8,712 feet, to be divided between 12 units, with an average size of 726 square feet highly indicative of rentals. Shahrish Shuvo of Shahrish Consulting LLC is listed as the architect of record, and David Manesh of Melody Development Inc. is the site’s developer. The lot is currently vacant, and located immediately adjacent to the Morris Jumel Community Garden.
