Construction Resumes on The Ronald O. Perelman Performing Arts Center at the World Trade Center

Back in December, YIMBY reported that work had appeared to stall for The Perelman Performing Arts Center at the World Trade Center, in the Financial District. While things have appeared to remain in-stasis since then, news has now broken that Governor Cuomo has officially allowed construction of the new PAC. That means work should soon begin again on the site, and may partially explain the delays seen over the past few months.

Revised Design Revealed for 514 Halsey Street, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn

An empty lot in the historic neighborhood of Bedford-Stuyvesant is looking to be filled. The site at 514 Halsey Street has now seen two proposals by Kane Architecture and Urban Design. Their first proposal to the Landmark Preservation Commission was four months prior and was rejected. Today, we can reveal the redesigned site following the first hearing.

Permits Filed for 38-Story Hotel at 113 West 24th Street, Chelsea

Permits have been filed for a 38-story hotel at 113 West 24th Street, in Chelsea. The location is close to the 23rd Street stations for the 1 train, as well the PATH. Guests will find ready access to Madison Square Park, one block to the east, and Lam Generation will be responsible for the development.

Permits Filed for 2619 Ocean Parkway, Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn

Permits have been filed for a new 10-story addition to the Coney Island Hospital complex at 2619 Ocean Parkway, in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. The site is ten blocks away from the Sheepshead Bay subway Station, serviced by the B and Q trains, and nine blocks away from the Neptune Avenue Subway Station, serviced by the F trains. The Coney Island Hospital, connected with the NYC Health and Hospitals Company, will be responsible for the project.

19 Dutch Street Nears Completion As Exterior Work Wraps, Financial District

Construction is wrapping up at the 63-story residential tower at 19 Dutch Street, formerly known as 118 Fulton Street, in the Financial District. The last time YIMBY covered the structure, it had just topped-out. Now, work is nearly complete, with the façade almost entirely installed. For now, the exterior hoist remains up, and installation of interiors is ongoing. Carmel Partners is responsible for the development.

Plans Unveiled For New Newark Residential Tower Dubbed “Vibe”

New plans have been unveiled for a residential tower located at the intersection of Halsey and Williams Streets, in Newark, New Jersey. The project, dubbed “Vibe,” is being built by Strategic Development Partners, and is set to bring 256 new residential units to market.

Permits have been filed for a 12-story building at 314 West 127^th Street, in Harlem, Manhattan. The Harlem-based Center for Urban Community Services is responsible for the development. The company focuses on providing services to homeless clients, as well as housing development, training, and research. Here, they will partner with the Department of Homeless Services to create a center for housing with support for serious health and mental health issues, and criminal justice assistance. By their own metrics, they have reached more than 35,000 people per year.

Permits have been filed for an eight-story residential building at 1893 Crotona Avenue, in The Bronx’s Tremont neighborhood. The West Farms Square Subway Station is twelve blocks away to the east, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains, and the Tremont Avenue Train Station is seven blocks to the West, serviced by Metro North. Tenants will have quick access to Crotona Park, a 127-acre space described as being the most beautiful park in the borough. Edmond Haxhari will be the developer behind the project.
