The Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation this week announced two large technology and manufacturing leases at Building 127. Together, the new leases measure up to 56,000 square feet and represent a robust year of sales and progress within Brooklyn Navy Yard.
Permits have been filed for an eight-story mixed-use building at 71-82 Parsons Boulevard in Jamaica, Queens. Located at the intersection of Parsons Boulevard and 72nd Avenue, the lot is also addressed as 157-07 72nd Avenue. The closest transit is the Parsons Boulevard subway station, serviced by the E and F trains. A&R Properties Group is listed as the owner behind the applications.
Work is nearing completion on Little Island, a 2.4-acre park over the Hudson River at Pier 55 in Chelsea. Designed by Thomas Heatherwick with landscape design by MNLA, and managed by the Hudson River Park Trust, the whimsical park is perched atop an undulating array of funnel-shaped concrete pods, with the aim of evoking the image of a leaf floating on water.
A new rendering of a proposed condominium building offers the first look at what could become of a narrow vacant lot at 151 Freeman Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Designed by Pliskin Architecture, the building is expected to rise four stores above ground and comprise 7,084 total square feet.
The affordable housing lottery is open for 283 Powers Street, a three-story residential development in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Built in 1950, the 13,200-square-foot building yields 20 units. Available on NYC Housing Connect are six units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income, ranging in eligible income from $68,538 to $159,640.
