501 Ninth Avenue Rises Above Street Level in Midtown, Manhattan

Construction is rising on 501 Ninth Avenue, a 12-story residential building in Midtown, Manhattan on the border of Hudson Yards and the Garment District. Designed by Archimaera Architecture and developed by ZD Jasper Realty under the ZDJ Hudson Yards LLC, the structure is being constructed alongside its 120-foot-tall identical counterpart at 489 Ninth Avenue at the southern end of the parcel. The two buildings will collectively span 220,000 square feet and yield 174 condominium units with an average scope of 970 square feet, as well as ground-floor commercial space, a cellar level, and a 30-foot-long rear yard. Warner Construction Services Inc. is the general contractor for both properties, which are bound by West 38th Street to the north, West 37th Street to the south, Ninth Avenue to the east, and Dyer Avenue to the west.

Last week, Skidmore Owings & Merrill and Brookfield Properties announced the completion of Two Manhattan West, a 58-story commercial skyscraper in Midtown West. The 935-foot-tall structure yields 1.9 million square feet of office space and is the final component of the 7-million-square-foot Manhattan West complex, a $4.5 billion, five-building master plan more than 40 years in the making. R&R Scaffolding Ltd. supplied the BMUs and AECOM Tishman served as the general contractor for Two Manhattan West, which is located at the corner of Ninth Avenue and West 31st Street, between the James A. Farley Building to the east and Hudson Yards to the west.

606 West 30th Street Wraps Up Construction in West Chelsea, Manhattan

Construction wraps up on 606 West 30th Street, a 42-story residential skyscraper along the border of Hudson Yards and West Chelsea, Manhattan. Designed by Ismael Leyva Architects and developed by Lalezarian Properties, the 545-foot-tall structure spans 312,350 square feet with 192,780 square feet of residential space and 14,240 square feet of commercial space on the lower levels. The tower is also known as Tower B in a two-skyscraper development along with the taller 3ELEVEN from FXCollaborative and Douglaston Development at 601 West 29th Street, which is already complete. Hudson 37 LLC is the general contractor for the property, which is located on an interior lot between Eleventh Avenue and West Street, directly across from the third phase of the High Line.
