New renderings have been unveiled for The West, a new residential development at 547 West 47th Street in Hell’s Kitchen. SHoP Architects‘ 1,428-foot-high residential supertall at 111 West 57th Street is getting closer to the finish line. Developed by JDS Development, Property Markets Group, and Spruce Capital Partners, the Billionaires’ Row skyscraper stands as the world’s most slender building with a height-to-width ratio of 24:1. The Midtown structure is also the second-tallest building in the city by roof height, and the third-tallest by architectural height behind the 1,776-foot-tall One World Trade Center and the 1,550-foot-tall Central Park Tower.

Central Park Tower’s Construction Crane Begins Disassembly Above Billionaires’ Row

The construction crane on Extell‘s Central Park Tower has begun disassembly at 217 West 57th Street in Midtown as the 1,550-foot-tall skyscraper moves closer to completion. Designed by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill, the residential supertall boasts the highest roof level of any building in the Western Hemisphere. Extell is projecting a $4 billion sellout with its in-house team marketing the 179 residences.

517-523 West 29th Street’s Superstructure Passes the Halfway Point in Chelsea

Construction has passed the halfway mark at 517 West 29th Street, a ten-story, 135-foot-tall condominium project in Chelsea. Developed by Churchill Real Estate Holdings and designed by Ben Hanson Architect with Rand Engineering and Architecture as the architect of record, the building will yield 56,160 square feet with 60 residential units and nine private outdoor parking spaces.

Demolition Prep Underway at 317-319 West 35th Street in the Garment District

Demolition preparations are underway at 317-319 West 35th Street in Midtown’s Garment District, where a 25-story hotel is planned to rise. Designed by Peter Poon Architects and developed by Wei Hong Hu under the H Hotel LLC, the 249-foot-tall structure will span 59,250 square feet with 166 hotel rooms. The property will also contain 3,399 square feet of commercial space. The permits, which were filed earlier this year, indicate that there will be a cellar, sub-cellar, and basement.
