Collegiate School’s New 10-Story Building Tops Off at Riverside Center

The Collegiate School sold off its buildings on West 78th Street to its landmarked neighbor, the West End Collegiate Church, and now the new campus for the tony, all-boys educational institution is rising at 301 Freedom Place in the Riverside Center development. Prolific photographer Tectonic brings us the latest from the site between West 61st and West 62nd Streets, a block inland from the West Side Highway and the Hudson River.

Developer Acquires Riverside Center Sites Of Planned 34- and 36-Story Buildings, Lincoln Square

Extell Development and The Carlyle Group have sold two development sites within the Riverside Center mega-development, in Lincoln Square, to GID Development for $264.865 million. The properties include 10 Riverside Boulevard and 639 West 59th Street, and the previous developers have already filed applications for residential buildings. Earlier this year, YIMBY reported on plans for a 36-story, 288-unit building at 10 Riverside. And over the summer, we brought you news of plans for a 34-story, 244-unit residential building at 639 West 59th Street. Both buildings will have small retail components, and Goldstein Hill & West Architects is the architect of record. Commercial Observer was the first to report on the sale.

34-Story, 244-Unit Residential Building Filed At 639 West 59th Street, Riverside Center

Extell Development and Carlyle Group have filed applications for another Riverside Center building, this time at 639 West 59th Street, in Lincoln Square. The building will stand 34 stories or 391 feet in height, and will have 244 residential units. Retail space will span 1,845 square feet on the ground floor within the larger 330,152 square-foot building, and amenity space will be located on the ground floor and cellar. Goldstein Hill & West Architects is the architect of record.
