$231 Million Refinancing Issued For Hawthorn Park At 160 West 62nd Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side

Wells Fargo’s Multifamily Capital group has arranged $231 million in refinancing for Hawthorn Park, a mixed-income residential tower at 160 West 62nd Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. The 54-story building contains 339 rental units, including 271 market-rate apartments and 68 affordable units reserved for households earning up to 50 percent of the area median income (AMI). The property is located at the corner of West 62nd Street and Amsterdam Avenue.

Demolition work is gearing up at 655 Madison Avenue, the site of a 37-story mixed-use tower on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Beyer Blinder Belle and developed by Extell, the 193,000-square-foot structure will yield 62 condominium units and ground-floor retail space. The property is located at the corner of Madison Avenue and East 60th Street.

Hotel Renovations Underway for Hyatt Regency Times Square At 1605 Broadway in Times Square, Manhattan

Renovation work is underway on 1605 Broadway, a 46-story hotel tower in Times Square, Manhattan. The 480-foot-tall building originally opened in 1989 as the Holiday Inn Crown Plaza Manhattan and most recently operated as the 800-room Crowne Plaza Times Square before closing at the end of 2024. The building has since sat vacant with only the retail tenants left operating on the ground floor. Gensler is the architect and interiors designer for the property overhaul, which is planned to reopen later this year as the Hyatt Regency Times Square with 795 guest rooms and 159 enclosed parking spots. Argent Ventures under the Times Square JV, LLC  is listed as the owner of the development, which is located between West 48th and 49th Streets.
