The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) and Brooklyn Public Library (BPL) have released a Request for Proposals for a mixed-use redevelopment at 1743 86th Street in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. The project will replace the existing New Utrecht Library with a new public library and more than 200 units of 100 percent affordable housing on the library site and an adjacent city-owned parking lot. The property is located between 18th Avenue and Bay 16th Street.

New renderings have been revealed for 164-02 Jamaica Avenue, a forthcoming 28-story mixed-use building in Jamaica, Queens. Designed by Stat Architecture and developed by Vaya Development and Communilife, the 291,000-square-foot structure will yield 285 rental units with an average scope of 537 square feet. The project will also include 70,000 square feet of community facility space and 4,300 square feet of ground-floor retail. The 13,500-square-foot property is located at the intersection of Jamaica Avenue and 164th Street.

The New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) has approved revised plans for a 420-foot-tall mixed-use tower at 188 Duffield Street in Downtown Brooklyn at a public meeting on June 9. Designed by Hill West Architects and Acheson Doyle Partners Architects, the project will preserve the landmarked Duffield Street Houses, located at 182-188 Duffield Street, incorporating them into the base of the tower. The proposal was filed by 188 Duffield, LLC. The property is located between Myrtle Avenue and Willoughby Street.
