Exterior work is moving along on 526 Baltic Street, an 11-story residential building in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Designed by NY Building Associates for Baltic Height LLC, the 148-foot-tall structure will span 74,629 square feet and yield 96 rental units with an average scope of 663 square feet, as well as 10,955 square feet of commercial space, a cellar level, and a 37-foot-long rear yard. The property is located on an interior lot between Nevins Street and Third Avenue.

Industry City Welcomes New Indoor Climbing Gym In Sunset Park, Brooklyn

Indoor climbing gym HAPIK is opening on Saturday, November 23 at Industry City, a 16-building mixed-use campus in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. The new 15,000-square-foot gym, which is situated in building 6 within the 35-acre commercial park, features more than 50 climbing walls reaching up to 24 feet in height, along with two rope courses.

Permits Filed for 17 Division Street in Chinatown, Manhattan

Renderings Revealed For Two-Tower Proposal At 467 Prospect Avenue in South Slope, Brooklyn

New renderings have been revealed for 467 Prospect Avenue, a two-tower residential project in South Slope, Brooklyn. Designed by Gerald J. Caliendo Architects and developed by Apex Development, the project comprises two connected structures standing at least 13 stories and around 135 feet tall, and will yield 244 apartments in studio to three-bedroom layouts with 61 units reserved for households earning 60 percent of the area median income (AMI). The property spans two parcels currently occupied by the Arrow Linen & Uniform Supply Company textile factory between 8th Avenue and Prospect Park West, and will require rezoning for residential use.

Construction has broken ground at 1404 Willow Avenue, the site of an eight-story residential building in Hoboken, New Jersey. Designed by MVMK Architects in collaboration with Living Systems and developed by Advance Realty Investors, the structure will yield 52 rental units in studio to three-bedroom layouts with an average scope of 903 square feet, as well as 6,800 square feet of ground-floor retail space. Five of the units will be reserved for affordable housing. The project is part of Hoboken’s North End Redevelopment Plan and is located at the corner of Willow Avenue and 14th Street.

As temperatures begin to drop, New York City’s construction market shows no signs of cooling down. New York YIMBY’s construction report for the third quarter of 2024, based on permit filings submitted to the Department of Buildings during the three-month period from July through September, shows strong filing activity that indicates momentum is continuing from the preceding quarterly tallies. In the third quarter, New York’s developers filed permits for a total of 1,071 new buildings, measuring a combined 26.8 million square feet with 18,935 residential and hotel units. Below, we break the data down in a series of detailed analyses. Rendering Revealed for 245 West 55th Street’s Expansion in Midtown, Manhattan

A new rendering has been revealed for 245 West 55th Street, an 18-story renovation and expansion in Midtown, Manhattan. Developed by New Jersey-based Mandelbaum & Mandelbaum under the 245 West 55th St LLC, the project involves the construction of six new stories above the roof parapet of the current 135-foot-tall mixed-use building, as well as the gut renovation of its 70,000 square feet of interiors and possible residential conversion of its commercial space. The site’s zoning also permits the structure’s renovation for boutique office use, though it is currently unclear which option the developer is pursuing. The property is located on an interior lot between Eighth Avenue and Broadway.
