Work is wrapping up on 113 Nassau Street, a new 30-story apartment building on the edge of the Financial District. The SLCE-designed tower contains 168 residential units in addition to a mix of ground floor retail and office space.
The design for 113 Nassau is simple enough, and the project conforms to the streetscape – the ground-floor retail will be especially welcome, as much of the surrounding neighborhood appears run-down, especially for Lower Manhattan standards.
Though the tower does rise thirty floors, it makes no impact on the New York skyline, lost somewhere between the World Trade Center and 8 Spruce Street. Still, ‘city views’ are better than no views, and occupancy is slated for early 2014.
