Permits have been filed for a five-story community facility building at 5 New Montrose Avenue, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The development is just three blocks away from the Hewes Street station, serviced by the J, M, and Z trains. Kushner Studios will be responsible for both development and design.

The 55-foot tall structure will yield 9,500 square feet. The building will have a variety of functions. There will be a sanctuary lobby, changing rooms and parking spaces on the ground floor, a house of worship and accessory library on the second floor, office space, library, and study rooms on the third floor, clerical offices and a conference room on the fourth floor, and an outdoor terrace on the fifth floor.

A single-story structure currently occupies the site. It used to be an auto repair shop, but was shut down about a year ago, and has since been home to several stray cats. Demolition permits have not been filed.
