Permits have been filed for a five-story mixed-use building at 31-21 37th Street in Astoria, Queens. The site is eight blocks away from the Steinway Street subway station, serviced by the E, M, and R trains. Cheskie Weisz of CW Realty is behind the applications.

The 50-foot tall structure will yield 35,480 square feet, with 25,880 square feet dedicated to residential use, and 1,090 square feet for a house of worship. 38 apartments will be created, averaging 680 square feet apiece, indicating rentals. A 20-car parking lot will be included on site. Tenants will have access to a recreation space.

J Frankl and Charles Mallea will be responsible for the design.

Demolition permits will not be needed, as the lot is just a parking lot. The estimated completion date has not been announced.
