YIMBY has new photographs of the completed exterior of 250 West 81st Street, as well as interior views of the amenities at the 18-story Upper West Side condominium building. Designed by Robert A. M. Stern Architects with Hill West Architects as the architect of record, Alchemy Properties is the developer of the site, and Stribling Marketing Associates is managing sales for the building’s 31 condominiums, which average 2,700 square feet apiece. Sales are in partnership with Alchemy Properties and Stribling Marketing Associates.
Amenities include a basketball court, a children’s playroom, a music and recording studio that comes with instruments, a mixing board, and a sound booth, a fitness center with Technogym and Peloton equipment, an outdoor rooftop terrace, and a library with a terrace, a curated book selection, and a catering pantry.
The rooftop terrace offers views of the Midtown skyline and the Hudson River.
The site is located on Broadway at the corner of West 81st Street. The structure’s exterior is clad in the architect’s signature warm-colored limestone and features a design that blends well with the local neighborhood. The closest subway is the 1 train at the 79th Street station. The American Museum of Natural History and Central Park are only a ten-minute walk to the east. A number of cafes, shops, and retail options line Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue nearby.

sometimes RAMSA gets it right, and sometimes not: what is that receptionist desk…..an afterthought like the monster AC exposed on the roof?
Another beautiful gem from Stern that offers an alternative to fish bowl living in a glass box.
RAMSA is the only architect designing buildings whose design and appearance will endure beyond the current generation of flashy fast-buck scammer clients.
