Permits have been filed for an eight-story residential building at 1044 President Street in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Located between Bedford Avenue and Franklin Avenue, the interior lot is two blocks south of the Franklin Avenue subway station, serviced by the 2, 3, 4, and 5 trains. Jacob Fulop under the President Lofts LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 80-foot-tall development will yield 43,955 square feet, with 34,353 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have 55 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 624 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar, a 54-foot-long rear yard, and 22 enclosed parking spaces.
S. Wieder Architect is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits have not been filed yet for 1930’s two-family home on the lot. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

How on earth is something like this even allowed in that spot?
Good question.
beautiful hems destroyed for small apartments? Smells like greed to me and absurd aesthetically.
you should have bought it then
Homes dont get destroyed when building up an empty lot.. they get created
You should probably add that the filing covers 3 lots (28, 29, and 30) on the block, and that two of the lots are currently a vacant weed filled parking lot. It would also be more useful if the street-view actually focused on showing the area where the building is being constructed instead of centering on the neighboring buildings.
8(!!!!) stories, there??? How is that allowed?
