Construction is nearing completion on the second phase of Vantage, a two-tower residential complex at 33 Park View Avenue in Jersey City. Designed by S9 Architecture and developed by Fisher Organization, the development features twin 44-story towers and will yield a total of 900 apartments. Phase two features 452 homes ranging from studios to two-bedroom units.
Recent photos show the state of work on the structure, which is located at the corner of Marin Boulevard and Park View Avenue.
The glass curtain wall is almost entirely complete on the new tower. Most of the external work is now focused on the lower floors of the five-story podium and the corner main entrance, where a temporary metal fence and sidewalk barriers remain standing. The mechanical hoist is still attached to the eastern profile, but should begin to be disassembled over the coming weeks.
The building features a conventional massing with several right-angled corners added to the wider elevations of the reinforced concrete superstructure. The footprint is offset from the first phase of Vantage so as to not block the residents’ views of the Manhattan skyline across the Hudson River.
At the base will be two retail spaces spanning about 15,000 square feet in total. The roof of the podium will have an outdoor swimming pool and other residential amenities including seating areas, a great lawn, a basketball court, and fire and barbecue pits.
Completion of the second phase of Vantage will most likely occur in 2021.
