The Upper West Side’s top-selling new development, 200 Amsterdam, has shared with YIMBY that a new penthouse designed by Studio Mellone will be unveiled in the coming months. As a part of the building’s Penthouse Collection, the residence sits amongst the top floors of the 52-story, 668-foot-tall, 112-unit, and 300,000-square foot condominium tower, which is located on the corner of 69th Street and Amsterdam Avenue. The Art Deco-inspired tower was designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects, and developed by SJP Properties and Mitsui Fudosan America, with interior spaces by CetraRuddy. Closings are underway, and prices for available one- to five-bedroom residences starts at $3.1 million. The Penthouse Collection includes full-floor and duplex residences beginning at $17.9 million.

“The highly anticipated Penthouse Collection at 200 Amsterdam delivers ten extraordinary residences that are some of the most impressive homes in the city,” said Stephen Kliegerman, president of Brown Harris Stevens Development Marketing, the exclusive sales and marketing firm for 200 Amsterdam. “Starting on the 41st floor, the collection comprises eight full-floor and two duplex residences superbly appointed with the finest details and materials—no luxury or expense was spared.”

Within the Penthouse Collection’s Primary Suites, which extend the width of the residences, the corner sleeping quarters have been outfitted with spacious wardrobes and a modern, integrated wet-bar for the ultimate convenience. The accompanying primary bathrooms offer a graceful retreat with spa-inspired steam showers and a freestanding soaking tub, all framed by floor-to-ceiling window walls.

Below are a mix of exterior and interior views depicting the two-story layout on the uppermost floors. One would enter through the private elevator vestibule and immediately be met with grand views from the highest point on the Upper West Side through the 116-foot-long, 20-foot-tall, floor-to-ceiling windows.

The large windows allow for maximum natural daylight exposure and wide views over the city that span for miles in every direction. Contemporary eat-in kitchens feature modern, marble hoods and waterfall-edge islands, bespoke white oak cabinetry, and a full suite of premium appliances from Miele, Wolf, and Sub-Zero.

Low-rise shrubbery and glass walls line the edge of the expansive outdoor terrace that faces Central Park and the row of residential buildings that line Central Park West.

The Upper East Side is also clearly seen across Central Park, as well as Queens and the rest of Long Island on the horizon. Views stretch 30 miles from the top of the tower, encompassing both New York City and its surrounding environs in all directions.

The granite, limestone, decorative panels, and oversized floor-to-ceiling windows line the sleek exterior of the reinforced concrete superstructure, which features numerous setbacks on the main eastern elevation in order to give a select few units their own private balconies with panoramic views over the Upper West Side, Central Park, and the Billionaire’s Row skyline to the south. Occupants with southern facing windows can see down the Hudson River with sun all year round, while sunsets can be seen to the west over New Jersey, and views of the George Washington Bridge and Upper Manhattan are visible to the north.

“In addition to the penthouse, a series of model residences by celebrated interior designers showcase how these pristine homes can be personalized with unique points of view to speak to many different lifestyles,” said Kliegerman. “Illustrating the appeal and versatility of the condominium’s more traditional residences, lauded designers Jarvis Studio and Bennett Leifer Interiors brought homes to life using bold colors, statement patterns and a variety of textures and materials that come together to create a dynamic energy reminiscent of 200 Amsterdam’s neighbor Lincoln Center—the cultural hub of the city.”

Residential amenities span 20,000 square feet over three floors. Called “The Spa at 200,″ there is a 75-foot-long indoor saltwater swimming pool and a mosaic-patterned whirlpool and temperature-controlled experiential rain shower; an infrared sauna and steam room outfitted with soothing Thermo Aspen Cedar; well-appointed treatment rooms that can be reserved through 200 Amsterdam’s private concierge; and a peaceful meditation room that inspires a sense of calm and balance. A state-of-the-art fitness center exclusively curated by The Wright Fit is complemented by a glass-enclosed studio for yoga, personal training, and Pilates. For interactive entertainment, a golf simulator is loaded with more than 60 championship courses. Pets can be groomed in style at the in-house dog spa for pampered pooches.

Directly above is “The Club at 200,” which evokes the ambiance of New York’s established private members clubs with a private dining room, lounge, club room, library, and landscaped outdoor terrace perfectly suited for entertaining. With rich leather and wood details, The Study is a quiet enclave ideal for intimate meetings or contemplation, while the adjacent private library offers a luxurious escape. Inspired by the neighboring Lincoln Center, The Little Composers Room serves as the children’s playroom and has been infused with musical motifs including a performance stage, costume area, and instrument nook. For budding and established resident musicians, The Club at 200 also offers a separate, soundproof rehearsal room.

One particularly unique amenity for residents is exclusive access to nearby Lincoln Center, where 200 Amsterdam partnered with the iconic institution to develop a curated VIP membership, providing presale and complimentary festival tickets along with opportunities for special events that are not open to the general public.

    No oligarchs here…

  4. Hopefully more tall buildings coming to the Upper West Side.

  5. If only I had the money… 🤤

  6. Better to be safe inside an ugly building looking out than outside one looking at it.
