Renovation work is complete on Greene Clermont Houses, a seven-story senior housing development at 80 Greene Avenue in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. Developed by Tredway in partnership with ELH Mgmt. LLC and the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), the project is part of the firm’s broader acquisition and rehabilitation of a 193-unit affordable housing portfolio in the neighborhood. The renovation extends the affordability of the development’s 97 units for another 40 years, preserving housing for low-income seniors earning up to 50 percent of the area median income (AMI).
Renovations included modernized apartments with kitchens featuring quartz countertops, subway tile backsplashes, stainless steel Energy Star appliances, and walk-in showers to improve accessibility. Common areas were also updated, including a new wellness room, nurse’s station, and resident services coordinator office. Additional improvements include fully modernized elevators, enhanced balconies, and free building-wide internet. Social services and programming are offered through a partnership with Jericho Project’s CARES initiative.
The Greene Clermont Houses are part of a larger seven-property portfolio acquired by Tredway in June 2024, which also includes the Tri-Block Houses Apartments, a scattered-site group of six buildings with 96 additional units. Across both developments, Tredway invested over $12 million in renovations and secured a $97 million Freddie Mac loan through Wells Fargo to support long-term affordability at 50 percent AMI.
The closest subways from the property are the G train at the Clinton–Washington Avenues station and the C train at the Lafayette Avenue station.
