Construction is nearing the halfway mark on The Brook, a 51-story residential skyscraper at 589 Fulton Street in Downtown Brooklyn. Designed by Beyer Blinder Belle and developed by Witkoff Group and Apollo Global Management, the 575-foot-tall structure will span 557,973 square feet and yield 591 rental units with an average scope of 827 square feet, with 30 percent of the inventory reserved for affordable housing, as well as 68,693 square feet of retail space, a cellar level, and two floors of recreational and sports amenities. Bonetti Kozerski is the interior designer and Suffolk Construction is the general contractor for the project, which is bound by DeKalb Avenue to the north, Fulton Street to the south, Flatbush Avenue diagonally to the east, and Bond Street to the west.
Vertical construction has progressed rapidly since our last update in late December, when the reinforced concrete superstructure had just begun to rise above the stepped multi-story podium. Recent photographs show a substantial portion of the tower already built and façade installation getting underway on the first few stories above the podium. Based on the pace of progress, construction could top out sometime this summer.
The façade is composed of white and brass-hued paneling surrounding recessed floor-to-ceiling windows.
Along the southwestern corner along Fulton Street is a large rectangular opening in the fenestration that will likely serve as the residential entrance. The rest of the ground floor will be occupied by retail space.
The nearest subways from the property are the B, Q, and R trains at the DeKalb Avenue station and the 2, 3, 4, and 5 trains at the Nevins Street station. An entrance to the DeKalb Avenue station is located on the development plot but is temporarily closed during construction.
The Brook is slated to finish construction in September 2025, as noted on site.

I don’t dare disrespect America’s skyscrapers, because it’s beautiful and high quality on this planet: Thanks to Michael Young.
Good stuff but man Downtown Brooklyn needs more green space.
I was five years old in ’53 when I saw what was starting to become by 1957 Cadman Plaza w/the park, the widening of Tilliary St., the construction of the new Supreme Court/Kings County, where I tried cases for 30 years, and a rehab of the Bklyn Bridge, which my Uncle and I walked across many times. Those days won’t come back because there is no way – no way – that eminent domain will be used to make additional green space in the downtown Bklyn area near and adjacent to Fulton St.
Beautiful depth and detail to this facade very nice work – developers take note
Still love that rendering that rotates that awful existing building across Fulton 90deg so it doesn’t look so ugly.
Bane of my existence. Such loud construction.
