The Bromley Companies recently announced the grand opening of a new Levain Bakery at 122 Fifth Avenue in Union Square, Manhattan. The 3,000-square-foot space is Levain Bakery’s seventh location in the city. It was celebrated by the introduction of a new Black & White Chocolate Chip cookie, inspired by the classic New York City dessert.
122 Fifth Avenue completed construction in 1899 and underwent an extensive renovation by STUDIOS Architecture that completed in 2022. It contains 111,000 square feet of interior space across ten floors, with a roster of tenants including Parachute Home, Pandora, and Allbirds. The property is aiming for LEED Gold and Fitwel certifications, and offers tenants a variety of amenity spaces, including a 4,000 square feet of rooftop space and a pavilion.
“The opening of Levain Bakery is an incredible moment not only for 122 Fifth, but for the Flatiron district as a whole,” said Nicholas Haines, CEO of Bromley Companies. “Levain is a key component of our vision to create a premier, mixed-use office building centered on convenience and best-in-class offerings. The beloved bakery is a go-to staple for both residents and visitors and we’re thrilled to be a part of its expansion story.”
The closest subways from 122 Fifth Avenue are the F and M trains at the 23rd Street station and the 4, 5, 6, L, N, Q, R, and W trains at the 14th Street-Union Square station.

Bakeries seem to be the new fad.
Need one on the UWS.
the UWS is where Levain began and IS!
My favorite buildings tend to be around Union Square and below 14th St along Broadway. The view suggests that the bakery is in the building’s lobby. I see no other entrance to the upper floors.
this is like a commercial advertisement.. who cares about bakeries. man.. why not mention a vegetarian place opened in China Town..
i was hanging around in yorkville yesterday for the first time in awhile and its just littered with little bakeries, including this brand. to be fair some are old school mom & pops like budapest cafe & bakery. bakeries seem to be a thing tho.
