Construction has topped out on 95 North 6th Street, a two-story ground-up development from 95 North 6th Street LLC in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. SRA Architecture and Engineering is listed at the applicant of record for permits filed earlier this year and the property is located on 25-foot-wide interior lot between Wythe Avenue and Berry Street.
Recent photographs show the superstructure built to its flat roof parapet and lined with CMU blocks, with much of the front elevation covered by the tall sidewalk shed and black netting. The entire building’s steel framework was assembled erected since our last update in early September, when the site was still being excavated and cleanup from the demolition of the former single-story occupant was wrapping up.
Crews are in the process of laying the façade of long rectangular bricks across the perimeter walls of the southern profile between the windows and entrance.
The below Google Street View image shows the conditions of the property prior to the start of demolition.
The nearest subway from the site is the local L train at the Bedford Avenue station. Also nearby is the North Williamsburg ferry terminal on the East River, a short walk to the northwest along the waterfront esplanade at the end of North 6th Street.
A completion date for 95 North 6th Street, renderings, and the intended building programming was not listed in the permits. YIMBY predicts the property to eventually open as a commercial development given North 6th Street’s reputation as a popular growing commercial and retail corridor in the heart of Williamsburg.
