The affordable housing lottery has launched for The Clairemont, a 14-story mixed-use building at 26-04 Jackson Ave in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by Kao Hwa Lee Architects and developed by CW Realty, the structure yields 82 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 25 units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $105,875 to $218,010.

Amenities include a double-height lobby, gym, yoga and dance studio, dog park, bike storage lockers, lounge, virtual doorman, work-from-home station, and landscaped rooftop deck. Residences come equipped with washers and dryers, air conditioning, high-speed internet, and name-brand kitchen appliances, countertops, and finishes. Tenants are responsible for electricity including stove and heat.

At 130 percent of the AMI, there are six studios with a monthly rent of $3,088 for incomes ranging from $105,875 to $161,590; six one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $3,298 for incomes ranging from $113,075 to $181,740; and 13 two-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $3,939 for incomes ranging from $135,052 to $218,010.

Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than September 30, 2024.

  1. There is another new Clairemont Robert Stern luxury building that just opened in Manhattan at W122nd and Clairmont Ave.

  2. I don’t know of anyone who earns $100,000 and more is homeless. This income group have choices placed at their feet. Those of us working, earning below $50,000, know there’s pretty much nothing between us and a shelter or the streets.
