Permits have been filed for a 15-story mixed-use building at 2952 West 28th Street in Coney Island, Brooklyn. Located between Mermaid and Surf Avenues, the lot is near the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue subway station, serviced by the D, F, N, and Q trains. Judy Herbstman of non-profit Settlement Housing Fund is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 152-foot-tall development will yield 296,965 square feet, with 165,603 square feet designated for residential space and 131,362 square feet for community facility space. The building will have 172 residences, most likely condos based on the average unit scope of 962 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have 66 open parking spaces and 18 enclosed parking spaces.

Andrew Knox of ESKW/A is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits have not been filed yet for the parking lot on the site. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. I think something is missing from this article. The building is a project of the Settlement Housing Fund, and it will be one-third community facility space. It is unlikely the apartments will be condos.
