Construction is on hold at 75 Gerry Street, a five-story school expansion project in the Broadway Triangle section of East Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Permits by UTA/BRHS Oholei Shloima posted on site from the end of May call for a horizontal and vertical extension of the abutting five-story Bais Rochel High School for girls, originally designed by Mark Mariscal and completed in 2015. The property is alternately addressed as 177 Harrison Avenue and is located near the intersection of Gerry Street and Harrison Avenue.
Recent photographs taken through the wooden sidewalk fencing show the reinforced concrete foundation slab and perimeter walls fully formed, but none of the inner structure for the cellar level constructed. The site was formerly a surface level parking lot for the school.

No finalized renderings have been revealed apart from the below black and white elevation drawing that depicts the five-story building clad in brick on levels two through five. The fenestration is composed of a symmetrical layout of wide rectangular windows topped with deep lintels. The structure’s floors align with the neighboring school, suggesting that the buildings will likely be connected via a horizontal overbuild. Two doors are located on the ends of the ground floor.

The nearest subways from the future development are the G train at the Flushing Avenue station to the south and the J, M, and Z trains at the elevated Lorimer Street station to the north over Broadway.
75 Gerry Street’s anticipated completion date was originally slated for fall 2024, as noted on site. A revised construction timetable remains unclear.
