Demolition preparations are underway at 1410-1418 Third Avenue, an assemblage of five low-rise buildings on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Skyline Developers purchased four adjoining structures along Third Avenue, plus a fifth building on East 80th Street, for $16.6 million from Maria Armendariz in late 2022. The properties permit a total buildable square footage of 100,000 square feet, though it is currently unclear what the developer intends to construct. The 32,050-square-foot property is situated at the corner of Third Avenue and East 80th Street.
Recent photographs capture crews in the process of carrying out fittings from the assemblage’s ground-floor commercial spaces, which are in the process of being gutted. Most of the retail frontage has been boarded up or blocked off with metal rolling gates, and a few of the rusted windows on the residential floors above have been covered with wooden boards. A dumpster has been set up on East 80th Street, and scaffolding and should begin assembly in the coming weeks as crews begin to raze the buildings. YIMBY predicts all five buildings will finish demolition by the middle of this year.
The nearest subway from the development is the 6 train at the 77th Street station to the south along Lexington Avenue.

Another empty pit where developers demolish first and ask questions later.
I know, maybe they can put up a medical office building!
There’s a 5th building in the assemblage around the corner as you head west on 80th.
There are 3 buildings on 3rd Ave, and one on 80th. Where is the 5th?
At least I can see workers starting to move about its demolition work, so the original structure will gradually disappear: Thanks.
Just what the doctor ordered.. make it nice make it big
