Structural construction is closing in on completion on 43-09 52nd Street, a nine-story residential building in Woodside, Queens. Designed by T.F. Cusanelli & Filletti Architecture for Ivan Turkalj of Kordun Construction Corp., the 90-foot-tall structure will span 24,547 square feet and yield 33 rental units with an average scope of 743 square feet. The development will also include a cellar level, and a 30-foot-long rear yard. The property is located between Roosevelt Avenue and Queens Boulevard.

The reinforced concrete superstructure stands shrouded in a complex network of scaffolding, construction netting, and wooden formwork as crews close in on the final levels. Steel rebar protrudes from the uppermost floors in preparation for the final levels. Meanwhile, exterior work has begun on the lower levels with some of the windows already in place on the main western elevation. The flat northern lot line wall is also being enclosed in layers of insulation and waterproofing.

The rendering in the main photo was posted to the construction board and depicts the building clad in light gray brick surrounding a grid of floor-to-ceiling windows with black frames and mullions. Stacks of balconies protrude from the main western elevation, and multiple setbacks are shown lined with glass railings for terraces. The building culminates in a small flat parapet with a prominent black cornice.

The property was formerly occupied by a three-story residential building, as seen in the below Google Street View image from before its demolition.
