Construction has begun on Willow at The Ridgeway, an eight-story, all-electric residential building in Yonkers. The project is a collaboration between The Community Builders and the Mulford Corporation, a nonprofit affiliate of the Yonkers Housing Authority. Designed to serve low-income seniors, the building will feature 92 affordable apartments supported by Section 8 project-based vouchers. It replaces three vacant public housing buildings and is the final phase of a decade-long redevelopment of the former Cottage Place Gardens campus.

All units at Willow at The Ridgeway will be reserved for seniors earning at or below 60 percent of the area median income. Amenities will include free high-speed internet, a resident terrace with solar canopy, a landscaped courtyard with seating, garden beds, and a bocce court. The building will meet Passive House Institute US and Enterprise Green Communities standards and will include Energy Star appliances and a rooftop solar array.

The $30 million project is being financed with federal and state Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, over $10 million in subsidies from New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR), $2.7 million from Empire State Development, and additional funding from Westchester County, the City of Yonkers, and the Brownfield Cleanup Program.
