The affordable housing lottery has launched for Marcus Garvey Building G, an eight-story residential building at 305 Chester Street in Brownsville, Brooklyn. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by L+M Development and Services for the UnderServed, Building G yields 109 units. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 53 units for residents at 70 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $70,903 to $140,630.
Amenities include an elevator, shared laundry room, bike storage lockers, gym, recreation room, and an outdoor terrace. Tenants are responsible for electricity.
At 70 percent of the AMI, there are 37 one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $1,941 for incomes ranging from $70,903 to $102,060; two two-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $2,317 for incomes ranging from $85,269 to $122,500; and 14 three-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $2,666 for incomes ranging from $98,675 to $140,630.
Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than November 12, 2025.

Will West Indians and people of West Indian Decent be able to Apply and be processed if qualified because usually they have non West Indians processing the application.
