New renderings have been revealed for 18W55, a 26-story residential building nearing completion at 18 West 55th Street in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects and developed and built by Skyline Developers, the 289-foot-tall structure will span 152,084 square feet and yield 97 rental units in studio- to three-bedroom layouts with an average scope of 1,319 square feet. The project will also include 6,380 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and a 10,343-square-foot cellar level. The property is located on a formerly vacant interior lot between Fifth and Sixth Avenues.
The above rendering provides an aerial perspective looking west at the upper levels and the stepped setbacks on the northern elevation, which will create space for expansive private terraces.
Below is a street-level view of the multistory podium, showing the ground-floor commercial space and main entrance at the northern corner of the property. This image also offers a better view of the beveled façade paneling installed by PG New York and floor-to-ceiling windows.
The following renderings preview the Morris Adjmi-designed interiors. Finishes include white oak floors, tonal lacquered cabinetry with brass pulls and panelized appliances integrated into custom pantry millwork, and solid Cambria stone countertops and backsplashes in the kitchens.
Residential amenities at 18 West 55th Street will span more than 10,000 square feet and are planned to occupy the cellar level and floors two through eight. Offerings will include a virtual golf simulator, lounge, and cinema room.
Other amenities will include a two-story fitness center with private training studios, a resident social lounge, a two-story coworking suite with an open lounge and private conference rooms, a 24-hour attended lobby and doorman, oversized washer and dryer facilities, a dog washing station, and above-grade private storage available for lease. LIVunLtd is managing the amenities.
The closest subways from the property are the E and F trains at the 5th Avenue–53rd Street station to the southeast.
18 West 55th Street’s anticipated completion date is slated for October 2025, as noted on site.

Hopefully the historic buildings directly across the street won’t be lost to another all too common pile like this.
I was just wondering if the hotel guests in the adjacent Pennisula Hotel get a discount
for their rooms in the annex building, since the windows are blocked by a concrete wall?
Seriously, you’re worried about guests at a premier hotel? Looking at this from the street, it’s safe to say that both you and the tourists can sleep well knowing that this residential building will have little to no impact. If anything, it appears to cover one floor of that annex building. And who knows, maybe the guests will enjoy peeking inside an open window on the new building to see how NYers live… LOL.
What is so funny here Mr. LOL? Nobody is worried about those hotel guests paying $1600/night
Then I have to assume both of you wouldn’t have any problems paying
$1,600.00 a night, with a view of a concrete wall, and only having
one egress in case of an emergency?
I have problems paying $1,600/night at hotels but I don’t worry about those paying for that rate. This is a free market
I loved the former pre-ware townhouses and smaller buildings that existing at this site and the side streets over here.
gave a nice human scale for midtown
