Construction is wrapping up on The Alary, a 28-story residential tower at 33 Westchester Place in New Rochelle, Westchester County. Designed by Fogarty Finger and developed by Allstate Ventures, the structure yields 315 rental units in studio to two-bedroom layouts. The project is the third and final phase of Westchester Place, a three-building arts-focused development along with The Arc at 64 Centre Avenue, and The Atelier at 40 Westchester Place. The through-lot property is bounded by Westchester Place to the east and Huguenot Street to the west.

The exterior is complete with the exception of the lower levels along Huguenot Street, where crews are almost done cladding the multistory podium. The façade is largely composed of white terracotta and bronze-accented panels surrounding a grid of floor-to-ceiling windows. The second and third floors are being enclosed in curved metal paneling with a perforated texture.

Nice design infill. Hopefully the historic buildings on both side will remain.

  4. And how exactly is this “art-focused”?

Neither Urban or Suburban. The worst of both worlds.

It is near the train station, but is also a block away from the noise of the New England Thruway.

  5. are there any affordable apartment building coming up in New Rochelle for seniors?
