Permits have been filed for a seven-story mixed-use building at 89 South 10th Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Located between Berry Street and Bedford Avenue, the interior lot is near the Marcy Avenue subway station, served by the J, M, and Z trains. Beis Alesk of Khal Alesk is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 73-foot-tall development will yield 66,069 square feet, with 33,163 square feet designated for community facility space and 32,905 square feet for residential space. The steel-based structure will also have a cellar and a 25-foot-long rear yard.
Mark Weinberger Architect PLLC is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits have been filed for the structure on the site. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

“The structure on the site” looks like the bones of an old church, would like to see a photo of it, in better days..
So half of the new building will be for a “community facility space” which will be… for what purpose? Hopefully the new facade will attempt to harmonize with the neighborhood.
