70 Hudson Yards Rises Above Street Level in Hudson Yards, Manhattan

Vertical progress is underway on 70 Hudson Yards, a 52-story commercial skyscraper in Hudson Yards, Manhattan. Designed by Roger Ferris + Partners and Gensler and developed by Related Companies and Oxford Properties, the 832-foot-tall structure is planned to become New York’s first zero-carbon-emission skyscraper and will yield just under 1.4 million square feet of office space. The property is alternately addressed as 514 West 36th Street and located along Hudson Boulevard East between by West 35th and 36th Streets.

Redesign Revealed For Pedestrian And Bike Path To Brooklyn Bridge

New York City will begin a street redesign this spring to permanently improve pedestrian and bicycle access to the Brooklyn Bridge at its Manhattan entrance in Manhattan’s Financial District, city officials announced. The project, led by Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani and NYC Department of Transportation Commissioner Mike Flynn, will create a new dedicated bike connection along Centre Street and fully separate bike and pedestrian access to the bridge for the first time. Work is expected to begin in the coming weeks and wrap before the FIFA World Cup begins in June.

Construction Breaks Ground At 105 West 108th Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side

Last week, construction broke ground on 105 West 108th Street, a forthcoming 13-story affordable housing building on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Designed by Dattner Architects and developed by The West Side Federation for Senior and Supportive Housing, the project will yield 84 permanent senior housing units for adults 62 years and older, with 40 units reserved for adults 55 and over who have experienced homelessness and are living with serious mental illness and/or substance use disorder. The upcoming structure is part of phase two of the WSFSSH campus, and is being built on an interior lot by the corner of West 108th Street and Columbus Avenue.
