Permits have been filed for a nine-story mixed-use building at 2501 Fulton Street in Cypress Hills, Brooklyn. Located on a triangular lot bound by Fulton Street and Broadway, the lot is near the Alabama Avenue subway station, served by the J and Z trains. Salvatore Acquista is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 95-foot-tall development will yield 76,182 square feet, with 67,144 square feet designated for residential space and 9,038 square feet for commercial space. The building will have 95 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 706 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar.
Gerald Caliendo Architects is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits have not been filed yet. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

This will be ugly.
It wont be pretty, but it isn’t going to be any worse than what is currently there.
Great to see more homes around Broadway Junction. Not enough housing here for the incredible number of train lines the neighborhood has access to.
Nine-stories is a good height for the area. Broadway Junction is gonna need a lot of new mid and high rise development to get rid of the grittiness of the area thanks to the tangle of elevated tracks, the train yard, and the bus depot in the area.
The architect’s work is a mixed bag though so it might not be the prettiest building.
“Mixed bag” is being generous. From what I’ve witnessed they’re consistently one peg above BADaly.
