Permits have been filed for a 15-story mixed-use building at 858 Atlantic Avenue in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. Located between Vanderbilt Avenue and Underhill Avenue, the interior lot is near the Clinton–Washington Avenues subway station, served by the C train. Barry Wagschal of Wagstone Capital LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 155-foot-tall development will yield 23,884 square feet, with 23,591 square feet designated for residential space and 292 square feet for commercial space. The building will have 36 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 655 square feet. The masonry-based structure will also have a cellar and a 30-foot-long rear yard.

Gladmore Mwandiambira of Baobab Architects P.C. is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits have not been filed yet. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. That’s gonna be a pretty tall and skinny building. It’s too bad they couldn’t acquire any of the neighboring properties so that the scale of the building could be similar to the other large ones that have gone up/are going up on Atlantic.

    • Not with that architect.

      • Interesting, because what I read previously, this lot in addition to the ones up to the new hi-rise, I believe 888 was assembled by the same developer of the new hi-rise. Lot next to 858 & the McDonald’s are another assemblage.

  2. I’d love to get an update on whether and when the development replacing the McDonald’s on the corner of Vanderbilt is moving forward. That eyesore needs to be replaced ASAP.

  3. Atlantic Ave developments is an image of 4th avenue bunch of mediocre and ugly buildings
