Demolition is finishing up at 613 Eleventh Avenue in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan, the site of ABBA Voyage, an experimental concert venue featuring holographic likenesses of the Swedish pop band. Developed by Extell Development Company, the 174,842-square-foot facility will have a capacity of 3,000 attendees and will include 28,101 square feet of below-grade parking. A third party will operate the venue under a 30-year lease agreement. The 60,250-square-foot property is bounded by Eleventh Avenue and West 45th and West 46th Streets.
Most of the low-rise structures that formerly occupied the parcel along Eleventh Avenue have been razed. Only one building at 620 West 46th Street remains, and stands shrouded in scaffolding and blue netting as crews work to dismantle its masonry façade and steel frame. YIMBY expects demolition to conclude before the end of summer.

The below floor plan from Skyscraperpage.com previews the layout of the venue. The stage will have a diagonal orientation within a hexagonal footprint with two tiers of seating. The entrance will be situated along Eleventh Avenue, and loading docks will be located on West 46th Street. The hall will feature seats for 1,650 people and will be able to accommodate another 1,350 standing guests.

ABBA Voyage, which first opened in London in 2022, showcases a holographic performance of the group in their early days from the 1970s. The Hell’s Kitchen location was chosen over Las Vegas for the show’s first American outpost. Each performance lasts approximately 100 minutes.
In November 2025, the New York City Industrial Development Agency approved an 18-year package of tax incentives worth $49.7 million for the project. Construction is expected to cost $512 million, and the venue is projected to attract approximately 900,000 attendees annually.
The nearest subways from the property are the A, C, and E trains at the 42nd Street–Port Authority Bus Terminal station at the corner of West 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue.
613 Eleventh Avenue’s anticipated completion date is slated for 2028.

are they planning to use the venue for other performances too or is it literally an entire building dedicated to this one show? how much demand could there possibly be for a hologram of ABBA that it warrants a whole building?
will it be have other uses? Abba for 30 years is a big bet.

What type of material is going to be used to build it concrete or steel ( columns and beams). Or is it going to be a combination of both reinforced concrete and steel columns and beams

Based on all the loading docks shown in the floor plan, I’d guess there will be other shows besides a 30-year run of ABBA’s greatest hits.
I saw it in London. Amazing. Purpose built arena but a good hike from central London. Sold out night after night after night. This will be a gold mine given its location
