Construction is finished on Forte Preparatory High School, a six-story academic building at 78-02 Queens Boulevard in Elmhurst, Queens. Designed by SBJ Group and developed by Apex Development Group LLC, the structure yields 59,000 square feet of classroom and recreational space for the charter school’s students in grades nine and ten. The property is located at the corner of Queens Boulevard and Hillyer Street.

The façade is composed of an insulated metal panel rainscreen in shades of bright yellow, green, and gray. The entrance is located at the northwest corner of the lot beneath a canopy bearing the name of the school. The varied fenestration features narrow windows at ground level and a wide, uniform grid on floors two through four. A bulkhead rises against the southern lot line wall.

The nearest subways from the ground-up development are the M and R trains at the Grand Avenue–Newton Street station to the east at the corner of Queens Boulevard and Broadway. One block to the west is the Queens Boulevard / Ireland Street bus stop, served by the M60.

Forte Preparatory High School is scheduled to open for the 2026-2027 academic school year on Tuesday, September 8. Student orientations will take place starting tomorrow through Thursday, September 3.
