The Margaritaville Resort is ascending swiftly at 560 Seventh Avenue in Times Square. Construction has passed the primary setback and workers are forming the floor plates for the main massing that will contain the hotel’s 234 rooms. Portions of the metal-trimmed glass façade have also begun to be installed on the tower, which will rise 29 stories. The project is designed by Stonehill & Taylor Architects and developed by Sharif El-Gamal of Soho Properties along with MHP Real Estate Services.
New photos from street level show the vertical progress that has been made over the past several months since YIMBY’s June update.
The property will contain a three-story restaurant, an outdoor swimming pool with plentiful seating and beach motifs, and a rooftop bar called the LandShark Bar & Grill. The projected price for the resort hotel is expected to be around $300 million. Located between 40th Street and 41st Street, the site is near a number of transit options including the N, Q, R, W, 1, 2, 3, 7, and S trains at the Times Square-42nd Street station; the B, D, F, and M trains at 42nd Street-Bryant Park station to the east; and the A, C, E, and buses at 42nd Street-Port Authority Bus Terminal to the west. Below are some renderings of the interiors and outdoor spaces.
The Margaritaville Resort is one numerous developments transforming the area surrounding Times Square. Other projects include the demolition and re-branding of 1568 Broadway as TSX Broadway, a Hard Rock Hotel coming to 159 West 48th Street, a 23-story hotel at 223 West 46th Street, and a 27-story hotel at 145 West 47th Street.
Completion of the Margaritaville Resort is expected next fall.
