Permits have been filed for a 47-story mixed-use tower at 550 Tenth Avenue in Manhattan’s Hudson Yards. Located on Tenth Avenue between 40th and 41st Streets, the lot is six blocks north of the 34th Street-Hudson Yards subway station, serviced by the 7 train. Gotham Organization is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 520-foot-tall development will yield 436,188 square feet, with 343,350 square feet designated for residential space, 57,302 for community facility, and 27,556 square feet for commercial space. The building will have 453 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 757 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar.
Handel Architects is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits were filed in September 2020 for the eight-story building on the site, formerly occupied by Covenant House. Gotham Organization is wrapping up construction on the new Covenant House headquarters at 460 West 41st Street in Midtown West. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
