The affordable housing lottery has launched for 5Pointz, a 48-story mixed-use tower at 22-44 Jackson Avenue in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by HTO Architects and developed by G&M Realty, the 1.21 million-square-foot development stands on the site of the former 5Pointz warehouse, and will yield 1,122 units. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 337 units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income, ranging in eligible income from $63,429 to $192,400.

Residential amenities include a dog washing station, shared laundry room, bike storage lockers, a gym with a spa and yoga and dance studio, a pool, a party room, a recreation room, lounges, a business center, a doorman, recycling center, an on-site resident manager, and multiple outdoor green spaces. Units include washers and dryers in units, dishwashers, air-conditioning, and smart controls for heating and cooling. A garage with 250 enclosed parking spaces will have assigned parking spaces and electric car charging stations. 5Pointz will also have about 40,000 square feet of retail space in the podium of the development.

At 130 percent of the AMI, there are 78 studios with a $1,850 monthly rent for incomes ranging from $63,429 to $124,150; 180 one-bedrooms with a $2,295 monthly rent for incomes ranging from $78,686 to $139,620; 77 two-bedrooms with a $2,775 monthly rent for incomes ranging from $95,143 to $167,570; and two three-bedrooms with a $3,200 monthly rent for incomes ranging from $109,715 to $192,400.

Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than May 25, 2021.

All 130 AMI. Thats disheartening . And some of those studios are way too small.
Did you see that one of the studios is 6.5″ WIDE!!! Insane. That would be small even as a college dorm room! Sure to inspire depression in any unfortunate inhabitants.

Again, the “affordable” title they keep putting on these new developments which ;ultimately, displace’s residents from the surrounding community due to, rent increases, COL increases, and removal of the community’s cultural identity. What A SHAME. Rip NYC.

I live in an “affordable housing” in Yonkers,NY, they asked for $45.000 minimum. Within 11 years the building has been basically looks like a shelter.
They asked for so much money income, and you end up living in danger.
Now, I’m asking ¿What’s “Affordable”?, with a $65.000 a year, I can pay a $2.000 monthly and have not to go every year with a lease and showing my Taxes.
Anyway,my income is not that high like to dream to go back to my old County. I wish!
