Finishing touches are wrapping up on the Virgin Hotel, a 38-story tower at 1225 Broadway in NoMad. Designed by Stantec and developed by Lam Group, the 476-foot-tall structure will yield 300,000 square feet with 460 rooms managed by Sir Richard Branson of Virgin Group. Flintlock Construction Systems is the general contractor for the Midtown, Manhattan property, which is located at the corner of Broadway and West 30th Street, a short walk from Koreatown and the Flatiron District.
Since our last update in February, exterior work has concluded on the podium levels, including the black metal screen on the southwest corner, and the sidewalk scaffolding has been partially dismantled. Virgin’s signage has been installed on the northwestern end of the lower levels, with another logo set to be installed on the northeastern corner. The remainder of the sidewalk scaffolding should be taken down in the coming weeks.
The 22,000-square-foot mini golf franchise “Swingers: The Crazy Golf Club” has opened in the building’s cellar levels. The following photo shows the striped awning over the entrance to the facility.
Hotel amenities include an outdoor swimming pool with lounge areas atop the multi-story podium.
White curtains hang inside many of the hotel room windows on the eastern elevation facing Broadway, signaling interior work is nearing completion. Furniture and other equipment can be seen through the floor-to-ceiling glass in the multi-story podium.
The lower floors feature a double-height atrium that is anticipated to house amenity spaces for guests.
YIMBY predicts 1225 Broadway will wrap up work and open before the end of the year.

Kind of a weird area. Should be closer to Times Square.
NoMad is a much better neighborhood to stay in than Times Square. Actually, any part of Manhattan is better than Times Square. That’s why about a dozen new hotels have popped up in this area within the past 5 years, including a Ritz Carlton.
Virgin’s signage has been installed, beautiful color with both straight and curved. Another prominent parts on the tower are reflected bulkhead, also small protruding corner on its surface; curtains are nice to look at: Thanks to Michael Young.
Really David?
While the construction on the Virgin Hotel is almost completed, you comment on the CURTAINS?!
🤣😂🤣
what another out of context glass box destroying the character of the neighborhood and they plop a Virgin name on the outside.
We don’t need glass box hotels anywhere in nyc.
What a disaster
I don’t see what the problem is. And your alternative to the “glass box” is…?
My alternative is to build with real bricks and limestone like all of the Stern buildings.
Very simple.
Got it?
No. Real bricks and limestone are not versatile enough.
The rooms on the upper floors must have some amazing views of the Empire State Building.
The actual structure looks better than the renderings.. getting tired of the endless blue glass boxes, but this one looks alright.
I think the canopy entrance to Swingers is an elegant touch.
