Leasing Launches for 111 Varick Street in Hudson Square

The sleek, black residential building at 111 Varick Street is nearing completion in Hudson Square. With occupancy expected before the end of the year for the ground-up, 30-story rental tower, marketing has launched the development’s website and first batch of listings. 111 Varick is developed by Extended and designed by S9 Architecture. Compass Development Marketing Group is the exclusive leasing and marketing agent for the 100 residences, a mix of studio, one-, and two-bedroom units. Pricing will begin at $4,000 per month for studio apartments.

Construction Tops Out on Google’s St. John’s Terminal Building in Hudson Square

This week, Turner Construction hoisted the final steel beam into place on St. John’s Terminal, Google’s 1.3-million-square-foot addition to its Hudson Square campus at 550 Washington Street. Designed by COOKFOX Architects and developed by Oxford Properties Group, the 12-story building spans two full city blocks, with 100,000-square-foot floor plates, a rare scope for commercial buildings in Manhattan.

Demolition Complete for Disney’s Headquarters at Four Hudson Square, in Hudson Square

Demolition is finished and excavation work is now in full swing for Disney’s new 1.2-million-square-foot headquarters at 137 Varick Street, aka Four Hudson Square. Since YIMBY’s last update in late February, the final remaining building at 304 Hudson Street has been cleared from the property, which Disney purchased from Trinity Church Real Estate for $650 million. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and developed in partnership with Silverstein Properties, the upcoming 22-story building will eventually top out at 320 feet tall. Skanska oversaw the demolition process for the Hudson Square complex, which involved the razing of four structures.
