Work is underway at 842 Sixth Avenue in NoMad, where the world’s tallest modular hotel will soon rise. Designed by Danny Forster & Architecture, the 26-story building will house the AC NoMad Hotel by Marriott International and will eclipse the Lower East Side’s citizenM New York Bowery Hotel for the record. Concord Hospitality is the developer of the 100,000-square-foot project, which will contain 168 guest rooms, terraces, and a rooftop bar.

New York City will soon be home to the world’s tallest modular hotel, an ambitious new venture by Marriott International. Designed by Danny Forster & Architecture, the 26-story AC NoMad Hotel is set to dethrone the 19-story citizenM New York Bowery Hotel as the tallest modular hotel ever pieced together.
Preliminary renderings have surfaced for a new 25-story Marriott hotel tower designed by architect Danny Forster Design Studio. From developer Arisa Realty, the 220-key hotel is located at 432 West 31st Street and is expected to top-out at 25 stories.
It was in March of 2015 when YIMBY last brought you a construction update on the 30-story, 317-key Courtyard Marriott under development at 133 Greenwich Street, in the Financial District. At the time, the project was 18 stories above street level. Since then, the structure has topped out and has received much of its façade elements, as seen in photos by Tectonic. The building’s windows are all in place and paneling is currently being installed on its southern face. In all, the building measures 151,282 square feet. There will be retail space on the ground floor, with the hotel taking up the rest of the building. A fitness center will be located in the cellar, followed by a restaurant on the sixth floor, and a rooftop bar and terrace on the 28th floor. Hidrock Properties is the developer, while Danny Forster Design Studio being responsible for the design, with Peter Poon Architect serving as the architect of record. Completion can be expected later this year.
