The residential building is designed by Handel Architects, while Fosun Group and JD Carlisle are responsible for the nearly 300,000-square-foot development. Handel Architects is designing a new residential tower to NoMad at 15 East 30th Street, aka 126 Madison Avenue, which is currently the 25th tallest skyscraper under construction in the Five Boroughs. It sits to the north of 11 East 29th Street, aka Sky House, which is considered to be the first slender residential tower in New York City. Handel’s 51-story, 756-foot-tall building also features a slender profile as viewed from both north and south perspectives. Recent photos show the facade rising several floors above street level as the superstructure begins to peak above the surrounding urban fabric. Fosun Group and JD Carlisle are the developers of the project.
15 East 30th Street, also known as 126 Madison Avenue, has been making swift progress toward its 51-story pinnacle. 16 floors have now been built, comprising 30 percent of the eventual total floor count. The building will soon rise to be one of the tallest buildings in the NoMad neighborhood, featuring exceptional views of the Empire State Building.
Demolition permits have been filed for the five-story building at 126 Madison Avenue, in Midtown South, Manhattan. The site will become a commercial extension of 15 East 30th Street, a residential high-rise. Photos show construction is moving along for the project, which will top out at 51 stories.
