Developed by Extell and Hard Rock International, the structure made incredible progress over the past few months, reaching its 442-foot-tall parapet in the blink of an eye. The 291,000-square-foot development will contain 446 guest rooms, two entertainment venues, flexible meeting spaces, round-the-clock dining options, a fitness center, and a rooftop lounge. Thick planks of wood can be spotted covering the exposed steel rebar protruding from the completed reinforced concrete foundations. The project is designed by Berg + Moss Architects and is being developed by Extell and Hard Rock International.
The construction crane has been assembled at the site of the future Hard Rock Hotel at 159 West 48th Street, signaling that work is set to commence on the Times Square development. The plot measures 13,000 square feet and has yet to see the superstructure rise above street level.

The site was purchased by Extell eight years ago for $26 million, along with the necessary air rights that will allow the structure to rise 442 feet tall. The previously existing parking garage has since been demolished, and now work on the foundation is underway.
