Mack-Cali Realty Corporation has announced its partnership with SJP Properties to develop Harborside 4, a 1.2-million-square-foot office tower long-proposed at 136 Greene Street, in the Exchange Place district of downtown Jersey City. The development team won’t break ground on the tower until an anchor tenant has signed on, Real Estate NJ reported. The site, bound by Christopher Columbus Drive, and Greene, Pearl, and Hudson streets, is currently a parking lot.
New buildings replace old ones quite frequently, and skylines evolve. It isn’t very often that a development literally redraws the map, but that’s what has happened with Hudson Lights, located in downtown Fort Lee, N.J.
The lower blocks of the Upper West Side have given rise to a sprinkling of skyscrapers in recent years, from the Fordham redevelopment to 200 West 67th Street. And now, YIMBY has the reveal for 200 Amsterdam Avenue, which will rise 666 feet to its roof, becoming the tallest building on the Upper West Side.
Residents of Upper Manhattan, particularly Washington Heights and Inwood, will soon see something new rising across the Hudson River. On Monday, groundbreaking was held for the second tower at rental development The Modern, located just a bit south of the George Washington Bridge at 100 Park Avenue in Fort Lee.
In March, the first partial rendering was revealed of the nine-story, 64-unit residential addition planned to rise on the existing six-story, 144-unit (130 units are rent-regulated) apartment building at 707-711 West End Avenue, between West 94th and 95th streets, on the Upper West Side. The city’s Department of Buildings has since green-lighted the project, according to the Wall Street Journal, who also has revealed the first full rendering of it. Dubbed the Haswell, the 155,420-square-foot addition will contain 64 condominium units, each averaging a spacious 1,905 square feet. The current building will see renovations and upgrades, too.
