720 West End Avenue’s Morris Adjmi-Designed Conversion And Expansion Heads to LPC, Upper West Side

As the buildings in the Upper West Side continue to age, Brack Capital is filing plans to bring 720 West End Avenue into the 21st century. The proposal for the Landmark Preservation Commission would reconstruct interiors, enlarge the original structure upward by one story, which would be invisible to pedestrians, and fill in the lot beside it with an eight-story addition. The plan would bring over 120 new residences to the area, with design by Morris Adjmi Architects.

Crane Rising For The Upper West Side’s Future Tallest Tower at 200 Amsterdam Avenue

Construction of what may temporarily become the tallest skyscraper on the Upper West Side is poised to go vertical. As of yesterday, the building’s crane has arrived, and has been successfully installed for the soon-to-be 51-story 200 Amsterdam Avenue. Work has already reached the ground floor, with the foundation likely near completion. Concrete pouring for the first floor slab remains forthcoming. Alchemy Properties To Develop 19-Story Condo Project at 378 West End Avenue on the Upper West Side

Alchemy Properties, alongside Daishin Securities, successfully acquired the site of 378 West End Avenue for $158 million last week, which will eventually become the home of a ground-up 19 story condominium building on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. It will be combined with a new 12-story structure, in conjunction with landmarks approvals, to be built at 260-262 West 78th Street, the former location of The Collegiate School.
