BATWorks Temporary Facility Opens At Brooklyn Army Terminal In Sunset Park, Brooklyn

The temporary home for BATWorks, a new climate innovation hub at the Brooklyn Army Terminal in Sunset Park, has officially opened. The facility will support climate technology companies through programming, piloting, and commercialization, while also providing workforce development and green job training for local residents. The permanent hub, currently under construction within Building A, is expected to open in 2028.

6414 8th Avenue Progresses in Sunset Park, Brooklyn

Exterior work is progressing on 6414 8th Avenue, an eight-story mixed-use building in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Designed by Basic Groups Corp. and developed by Guan Yu Li, the 88-foot-tall structure will span 19,187 square feet with 11,334 square feet of community facility space and 7,853 square feet of commercial space. The project will also include a cellar and 68 enclosed parking spaces. The 8,000-square-foot property is located at the corner of 8th Avenue and 65th Street.

Developed by Ailanthus, BEB Capital, and SK Development and designed by Dencityworks and Alchemy Studio, the structure yields 187 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 48 units for residents at 30 to 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $28,766 to $189,540.
