Dekalb Commons Affordable Housing Complex Breaks Ground in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn

City officials, project partners, and community leaders recently joined to celebrate the commencement of construction at Dekalb Commons, a three-building affordable housing complex in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Designed by Magnusson Architecture & Planning and developed in partnership by the Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation and St. Nicks Alliance, the buildings are currently addressed as 652 Dekalb Avenue, 639 Dekalb Avenue, and 1187 Fulton Street.

LPC Approves New Townhouse Construction at 162 Hancock Street in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn

The Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) has approved the construction of a new four-story townhouse at 162 Hancock Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Designed by AT Architects, the building will partially replace an underutilized parking lot between two townhouse-style multifamily buildings.

Permits have been filed for a nine-story mixed-use building at 861 Park Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Located between Marcus Garvey Boulevard and Broadway, the lot is steps from the Flushing Avenue subway station, serviced by the J and M trains. Bruchy Lefkowitz is listed as the owner behind the applications.

Renderings from Fischer + Makooi Architects offer a first look at 466 Flushing Avenue, a nine-story mixed-use development taking shape on the border of South Williamsburg and Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Led by Brooklyn-based real estate company The W Group, the building will comprise a mix of community facilities, manufacturing space, and commercial area, with a total yield of 90,000 square feet.

Douglaston Development has revealed new renderings of a 17-story residential building under construction at 1057 Atlantic Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Designed by dencityworks, a local architecture studio, the 474,000-square-foot building will deliver 456 apartments, a collection of amenity spaces, and 31,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space.
