In northern Greenpoint, three mid-rise affordable residential buildings are going up, with 21 Commercial Street, a six-story, 93-unit residential building, the first to top out. In May, foundation work was underway at 33 Eagle Street, where a seven-story, 98-unit building is planned, and now construction is above street level, according to Brownstoner.
Back in April, YIMBY posted the first rendering for 160 West Street, a six-story residential development in the works near the Greenpoint waterfront. Now we have an updated look at the project, sent along by its broker, Ryan Serhant. The building, now dubbed The Gibraltar, is being developed by Saddle Rock Equities, and the architect is Joe Eisner, of Eisner Design.
Izhak Djmemal has filed applications for a four-story, eight-unit residential building at 38 Broome Street, in southern Greenpoint. The new building will measure 5,000 square feet, which means units will average 625 square feet, indicating rentals. Woody Chen’s InFocus is the applicant of record, and an existing two-story, three-unit townhouse must first be demolished.
Property owner Yidel Hirsch has filed applications for a four-story, 20-unit residential building spanning the lots of 193-197 Freeman Street, six blocks north of the Greenpoint Avenue stop on the G train. The building will measure 20,000 square feet, which means units will average 750 square feet each. Julien Flander is the applicant of record, and a single-story warehouse must first be demolished.
Developer Investmates Real Estate is building townhouses in South Williamsburg, rentals on Grand Street, and now condos in Greenpoint. They’ve sent along renderings of their latest project, a five-story condo development at 78 Freeman Street, only a block from the East River between Franklin and West Streets.
