Orchard Beach Pavilion has reopened at Orchard Beach in The Bronx’s Pelham Bay Park following a $114 million reconstruction project. Designed by Marvel for NYC Parks and NYCEDC, the project involved the restoration of the landmarked 140,000-square-foot building, which was originally built in 1936 with Works Progress Administration funding and had been closed since 2009.

Located between Classon and Franklin Avenues, the lot is near the Franklin Avenue subway station, served by the A, C, and S trains. New York City Council has approved the city’s first Expedited Land Use Review Procedure (ELURP) application for 351 Powers Avenue, an eight-story residential building in Mott Haven, The Bronx. The city-owned site will be developed with 84 affordable homes for low-income New Yorkers, including 30 units for formerly homeless residents. The property is located between East 141st Street and East 143rd Street.

Originally built in 1930, the prewar building yields 41 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect is a waiting list to fill one vacant unit for purchase at 120 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $85,000 to $285,000.
