1 Times Square Prepares For Fall Opening in Times Square, Manhattan

Construction is nearing completion on One Times Square, a 26-story commercial tower at 1475 Broadway in Times Square. Designed by S9 Architecture and developed by Jamestown, the $500 million project involves the full gut renovation and re-cladding of the 395-foot-tall steel-framed structure, along with the addition of new LED displays and public viewing decks with platforms that will overlook the district. SLCE Architects is the architect of record for the property, which is located on a trapezoidal plot bounded by West 43rd Street to the north, West 42nd Street to the south, Broadway to the east, and Seventh Avenue to the west.

The Torch Begins Its Ascent at 740 Eighth Avenue in Times Square, Manhattan

Construction is rising steadily on The Torch, a 52-story supertall skyscraper at 740 Eighth Avenue in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by ODA and developed by Extell, the 1,067-foot-tall structure will span 875,372 square feet and yield an 825-room hotel topped by a public outdoor observation deck with a drop ride attraction in its signature stemlike column. The mixed-use project is also slated to include lower-level retail space, a restaurant on two of the upper floors, a VIP lounge, and a pool deck for hotel guests. SLCE Architects is the architect of record for the development, which is located along Eighth Avenue between West 45th and 46th Streets on the border of Times Square and Hell’s Kitchen.

Todd Haimes Theatre Begins $24M Renovation at 227 West 42nd Street In Times Square, Manhattan

The Roundabout Theatre Company has begun work on a $24 million renovation of the Todd Haimes Theatre at 227 West 42nd Street in Times Square, Manhattan. Supported by a $1.9 million investment from the New York State Council on the Arts and Empire State Development, the project represents the first major renovation of the historic venue in nearly three decades. The property is located between Seventh and Eighth Avenues.

CityPickle To Open New Flagship Facility At 1501 Broadway In Times Square, Manhattan

CityPickle is set to open a new flagship location at 1501 Broadway in Times Square, Manhattan, marking its first year-round indoor pickleball club in the borough. The facility will occupy over 37,000 square feet on the eighth floor of the historic Paramount Building, with plans to open in fall 2025. Developed in partnership with architecture firm Sentient Design Works, the project will serve as both the company’s headquarters and its largest venue to date. The property is located between West 43rd and 44th Streets.

VOCO Hotel Nears Completion at 711 Seventh Avenue in Times Square, Manhattan

Construction is nearing completion on 711 Seventh Avenue, a 32-story hotel tower in Times Square. Designed by Gene Kaufman Architect and developed in a joint venture between Flintlock Construction Services and Atlas Hospitality, the 343-foot-tall structure will yield 422 guest rooms under IHG Hotel & Resorts’ VOCO branding. The property is alternately addressed as 170 West 48th Street and is located on an L-shaped parcel with frontage along Seventh Avenue and West 48th Street.
