Construction has reached the top of the podium section at 1245 Broadway, a 23-story, 200,000-square-foot commercial office building NoMad. Workers from StructureTech NY and Triton Construction are continuing to tie the steel rebar and build the formwork for the reinforced concrete perimeter columns and floor slabs. Designed by Skidmore Owings and Merrill and co-developed by GDSNY and Sweden-based Klovern, the building will eventually top out at 318 feet tall. CBRE began leasing the building’s class A office space in late 2019.
Sacred Heart University’s Fairfield Campus will soon include a new hockey and skating arena built to support nearly 4,000 spectators. The arena will function as the home of the university’s Division I men’s and women’s hockey team, the nationally ranked figure skating team, and the men’s ice hockey club.

The glass curtain wall is closing in on the final floors of the Virgin Hotel at 1225 Broadway in NoMad. Designed by Stantec and developed by Lam Group, the 476-foot-tall tower will yield 460 hotel rooms and 90,000 square feet of retail within the podium. Sir Richard Branson of Virgin Group will be in charge of managing the 300,000-square-foot property.
